SYSO
Organization The SYSO Association is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors comprised of parents of orchestra members, community leaders, musicians, and other interested persons. The Board determines SYSO policy and oversees the fundraising that supports the orchestra. In addition, the Board is generally responsible for assisting and advising the staff in the day-to-day planning of the organization. Board meetings are usually held one Thursday (usually the second) a month at the Kauchak Municipal Center, 3000 West 170th Place, Hazel Crest, IL. These meetings are open to anyone interested in attending. The Parents' Association is comprised of all orchestra parents and it was established to assist the orchestra members and SYSO staff in a variety of volunteering needs. Sample activities include: providing and selling concessions, chaperoning, ushering, fundraising, and other activities. Traditionally, the Association has one general meeting, the season opener in September. We may have occasional meetings during the orchestra rehearsal time, as we need assistance with various activities. Mailings will also be sent as needs arise. |
